Christmas Crafts, Junkanoo, Kayaking with Joss

We did our gift exchange with Dallas' family again last year, and we always draw names and do the Secret Santa thing, but this year we had to make the gifts. I drew Dallas' cousin, Lucy, teenage girl! I was a little nervous as to how it would go over, but I think she liked the jewelry shelf I made her.
The boys LOVE catching critters to play with for the day and observe. So I made them these little Critter Cages for Christmas.
The boys and I got to go to Junkanoo this year! Dallas was out on a trip, but Lyndsay and I took all the kiddos together and we had a lot of fun.
They had more fun running around playing in the grass at night than they did actually listening to the music and watching the parade, but it was still fun. As the teams were rushing by, it got a little loud for them, but they didn't complain too badly.
Around this time last year is when we took possession of our neighbors little Honda Civic (below). This is the first time since we've been married that we've had two vehicles. We feel like we're moving up. Granted, this usually only means that instead of having one car giving us problems...we have two that won't work properly. The boys gave it the name "Zoomie" and they think Zoomie is the fastest little race car EVER ;) Just because it is an automatic and it sounds like we're revving it up when we change gears. I promise we don't drive too fast on these roads down here.
The boys discovered ABCMouse.com for the first time and we had a lot of fun with that until it became all about the pet shop and playing with the hamster and all that side stuff. Kind of defeated the purpose of what we were wanting to get out of it. I'm amazed that in December I can plants sprouting a growing down here. Now if I could only learn how to keep them alive and thrive and actually produce.
A few gorgeous shots Dallas got on his trip while he was out. I love all the colors that come out...
Joss got to come to work with me one day and serve as my assistant guide on a day kayak :) He was so cute and did a fantastic job of being a helper!
He really liked this stick we found on the beach and wanted to pose with it. Sweet helper, it's going to be so fun when we can all do trips together!!!!!
