New Years Regatta..School Room

I was finally finished with the Greenheart Project and ready to get to work on one of the many projects I wanted/needed to do for me. This is our old work shed. When we built our new shed last year, I called dibs on this old one to turn into a little school room for me and the boys to work in.
Some of you may have seen the finished product on FB recently, but I'm just not to this part here on the blog. It was a lot of work to turn it into a fun space but the boys REALLY love it and we have started off very well with a fun little routine for school time for this year.
The second day of the regatta race was a little more fun--Two Friends actually got to sail!
Another beautiful day at the races in Elizabeth Harbour!
Joss grabbed the camera to take some pictures too, and that's when we got the picture of the bochie balls all lined up. I thought it was pretty clever, and so bright and colorful. Dallas was done with racing for the day and asked me if I wanted to take his seat. Pat wanted to skipper the 'Winner Takes All' race. So I thought, sure why not. Ha!! Famous Last Words probably. Pat was sailing like a mad man and all of us on crew were ducking and trying to keep from getting hit in the head by the boom and then preparing for collisions... YIKES!! I don't think I will be crewing with Captain Pat EVER AGAIN! It was fun when I wasn't in "Should I Jump Off This Boat or Ride Out the Crash" mode! Luckily, no one got injured, but it was pretty stressful.

We celebrated our New Year with a Christmas Tree Bonfire on the beach. The boys, mainly Joss, were very disheartened that we were burning the tree. He just couldn't understand it.
It was a pretty bonfire though, and smelled really good. If we can get beyond our emotional attachment of the tree, I think we've found a new tradition for our New Years Eve's. We didn't stay til midnight by any means, but it was a fun night regardless.

Love the tree burning as celebration for the New Year! Bless Jossy, he's such a tender heart...love it and love him!!! A bonfire on the beach sounds so relaxing, maybe we can be a part soon...

That's a cool idea for New Years! Add some fireworks to that puppy and I bet it won't upset Joss as much. Such a sweetheart!
