Weapons.Regatta.Pelican

I didn't get around to making the kids next door the presents I wanted to make them for Christmas BEFORE Christmas, so we made it a group effort. They each got to pick the kind of pretend weapon they wanted, I cut it out and they helped me sand them and paint them. Emit chose a little dagger, Joss picked two little pistols. These toys are still floating around. They are only allowed to shoot the 'bad guys' though.
It was fun to see all their little brains at work with the painting.
New Year's bring Buzzy's Regatta! Two days of sailing for the C-Class boats around Exuma.
My little First Mate's were ready after we grabbed a few crabbies (hermit crabs) to join us for the fun! Look closely in the critter cages, you'll see all their friends.
Two Friends started the first race and less than 5 minutes into it the mast snapped. Can't really race with a broken mast, so they had to call it quits for this day of racing. At least they are still smiling.
Poor Dallas. Not much regatta luck as of late.
A gorgeous December afternoon... what to do, what to do???
Let's go to Exercise Beach and PLAY!!!! And this day we were lucky to see a Pelican who had the same idea. And apparently our running and screaming and super hyper dog didn't scare it away. Not until they tried to swim out to it anyway....smart bird.
Thankful for days like this with my guys!
