The books wrote and illustrated some books for CC & Poppy earlier in the year that I had planned to send in the mail right after they did them. I managed to misplace them, and am sad to say they are STILL here with me :( I went by the post office today to finally mail these out and apparently our post office is closed for renovations and I can't send or receive anything until it is reopened. WHAT? I didn't even know they could actually do that! So, they will be sent soon CC & Poppy. Until then, here is footage of the boys reading their various books and the pictures to go with them :)
The Hermit Crab by Joss age 6
Above is Emit's (age 4) story about the pigs and below is The Spider and the Horse also by Joss (5).
I LOVE THESE!!! I had to take pictures so that when I send the copies to my folks I could have a copy of these somewhere to keep. They had so much fun doing them. The key is that it was all their idea. I've tried to get them to do some more, but unless they are in the mood it just doesn't work.
And now for my little bikini-babes! They decided to ransack my swimsuit drawer one night and wanted to try everything on :) I wish I looked as cute in these as they do. The hands on the hips, the hats, the glasses, the bag, it was all their idea!
It is kind of fun to see what my little 'girls' could have looked like :) And lots of folks were worried Dallas would be super angry, but he was totally fine and got a big kick out of it.
Easter was very relaxing this year. We enjoyed church at our house because our neighbors usually go out camping over that long weekend down here, so the last few years we've met at our place or someone else's. This year was our turn.
As if planned by Satan himself, the middle of the service BEC decided to cut the power for some reason on a perfectly normal Sunday morning. So, we waited a bit, and with it being a live service, we missed the sermon being preached online. SO the boys helped remind all the grown-ups of the real Easter story.
I was very proud and they were very accurate in their telling of the story. It was very sweet! We closed with this amazing song by Kari Jobe (totally amazing, please listen and be moved), and called it an Easter service. As simple as it was, and as annoying as the electricity situation made it, it was the perfect way to remind us all that it doesn't have to be complicated or showy with fancy clothes and long drawn out sermons... it's all about Jesus, HIS sacrifice and HIS resurrection!
Then, we had a little fun egg shell painting! Messy, energetic, outside, totally imperfect, and totally US! I did have plans to use this old sheet that they painted, but I think we may just have to try it again and make a few adjustments. I don't think they will mind ;)
