The kids all made a card for one of our neighbors that was in the hospital during Sunday School one morning. Sadly, Mr. Darville passed away a few months after this.

This was a busy stretch for us when Dallas was coming and going on one trip after another.

Many trips to the beach, out of the house, to tire out some little boys for bedtime so mommy could get some peace and quiet for a little while. :)

We made a little hoop for them to play with one day, and this was about the extent of their interest in it. As with most things... the excitement wore off pretty easy. I think they will have fun if we could put a real one in though, and we have a pretty nice paved driveway for it too :)
Raelynn and Jackson came over for a little play time. The boys are so sweet with them. They like to feel like the big boys and take care of the little ones...most of the time.

You can't just simply shoot it when the basket is in a tree.. you have to turn it into a climbing-shooting-dunking kind of game :)
Phase one of my new desk complete. I was so bummed that part of the bottom left base got off on the measurements and is totally crooked. You know, because I'm so smart and all that 23" is totally the same as 24" right?? Jeepers-- chalk another crooked piece up to the crazy momma brain I suppose. But it didn't bother me enough to completely re-do it at the point that I discovered my big mistake. So, my crooked desk with serve it's purpose :)
Another project that I had started around this time was work on a new website for some cottages that a friend's family owns and rents out. The site is now finally complete, but it took a lot longer than I had expected. See if for yourself at www.minnscottages.com I like how it turned out, I just felt badly for it taking so long.
The little red dromedary bag here is a random picture we snapped of a frog that was sleeping in one of our water bags (for taking drinking water out on our trips)...always have to be on the lookout for this kind of thing.
Work on the school room slowly continued. Emit came out to help me and wanted me to pose for some pictures for him!
Another play date at the beach! Zoe, the ever-present-watch-dog is never too far from my feet when other people are around.
Checking in on our turtle friends... I LOVE Emit's posture below with him clapping and calling the turtle to come here. It was so cute they way he was calling it to him.
Playing in the trees across the road. Mostly playing Baby Dragons or Wild Kratts. Baby Dragons, if I haven't mentioned it on here yet, is when they all choose a color and power to have (usually takes a long time to argue over who gets which one) and pretend to be baby dragons running around saving people and things in danger. There is always a Master in charge of the Baby Dragons and surprisingly Joss doesn't ever want that role... he always wants Mason (neighbor's kid a little older than Joss) to be the Master.
Wild Kratts is based on the show Wild Kratt Brothers and the kids pick which brother they are and which animal suit they are wearing that day. Usually I hear
"Hey mom, I'm the blue Wild Kratt....
mom, guess what, I'm the blue Wild Kratt....
Momma...know what...I'm the blue Wild Kratt"
Get the picture?? Over and over all day long. As if I could actually forget that they are pretending to be the BLUE WILD KRATT....AHHHHHHH!
Legos, Ninjas, J & E---all fun times! They LOVE these letter houses for their legos and toys. I'm going to fancy them up a bit this year for Christmas and finish doing some of the stuff I originally had planned. They spend HOURS playing on these. I am also going to try to make an "M" so that when one or more of the Morton Boys are over playing they will have a place because it always turns into a fight over who's letter they can play on.
I love seeing them play like this! You have Harry Potter, Dragons, Ninjas...you never know what kind of adventure is in store :)
Another ASA trip heading out! And my sweet helpers toting things from the van to the boat for me. Yep, van... our truck decided to die on us the busiest week of our season and we were using vehicles from the Resource Center. Very thankful they allowed us to use them (they are the organization that Dallas works with for the Sailing Club).
And they're off!!
