"We're gonna Go, Go, Go, Go....On an Adventure" Cat in the Hat

Man Alive! This last month has just been crazy. I think it is harder on us at this time in the season because we're still trying to get used to be so busy again after our dreadfully slow summers. But jeepers, we've been on the "GO, GO, GO, GO" as the Cat in the Hat would say.
This next couple shots below were from our last trip over to Chat-n-Chill with my folks before they headed home. CC was more than happy to let Emit take his nap on her :)
One of the last mornings they were with us Joss was drinking his chocolate milk, as usual, and my dad noticed that it didn't look shaken up enough because there was some chocolate still on the bottom of the cup. Well, my mom reminded my dad that we leave a little on the bottom so that Joss can see it. If I hand him his cup and tell him it's chocolate milk, the first thing he does is tips it up to look at the bottom. If he can't see any chocolate, he doesn't believe me that it is in fact chocolate milk (even though you can obviously taste it....the fun of reasoning with a 3 year old).

But anyway...back to the story, my dad said something like, "Oh, I see, it's psychological!" Joss sat there for a moment, looked at him kind of puzzled and said, "No, it's Chocolate!" :) LOL, I got a good laugh out of that one.
My little man, Emit, has officially finished nursing. He stopped a couple of weeks ago, and even then it was only at bedtime. I am very happy with how well the nursing went for both of my boys. I stopped around the same time for Joss because I was pregnant with Emit, so now I feel better that Emit stopped right around the same time too and that I didn't short change Joss. It was a huge guilt for me at first with Joss.
These guys amaze me DAILY with things they pick up and can say and do. Emit is so quick at everything!!! He is talking up a storm and gives everything an attempt at least. Every time he says "What's-zat?" and points to a car or truck and I say what it is, his immediate reaction is to pump his little arm for me to say "honk, honk!" He absolutely LOVES the moon... just like Joss did. He'll ask, "where moo?" until he sees it and then says something like "they is" for what I'm thinking is, "there it is". He knows where his belly button, ears, head, eyes and nose are. When he sees Joss run to the bathroom or sees him going somewhere he'll say "pee pee". I'm pretty sure he is calling our little trains by their names like James, Percy, Thomas and Toby. He says Toby and Percy (or his versions) the most.
Joss' imagination is developing so well too. He's always playing with his 'friends' from our shows or a movie he has watched recently. I'll go in to get him in the morning and they are all in his bed sleeping with him and I have to wake them up and carry them all with us to the living room. Yes, I'm talking about imaginary pals... not toys! And he's got dragons with him all the time (he loves "How to Train Your Dragon"). Some of the dragons will start out mean, but after just a few seconds they are good dragons and playing nicely with us. It's really sweet to me!
I have really been enjoying woodworking lately. I did the train table at Christmas for the boys, and have pretty much got the pieces all fixed on there like I want it now, but that gave me the taste for it, and I've almost completed my second project.
I won't give it away just yet :) It's not perfect by any means, and has many imperfections...some are due to lack of proper tools and Know-How, but I'm very proud of how it's coming along, and excited to see the final product. The boys were 'helping' me the other day and I had to snap a few shots!

As I mentioned earlier, we've been super busy lately. Lots of trips in the truck and boat picking people up and dropping them off... the boys are doing well with all the crazy, but I know some days are hard on them.
The times we're in the boat I can almost bet on great snuggle time with them, so that's always enjoyable!
We picked up some kayakers the other day that we camped on a beach with the "Guana-zes" as Joss calls them. Emit was a lot braver this time around and was chasing them around trying to catch them.
Some of our kayakers out now brought the boys a bag full of toys the other day to play with. The last time this group came down Joss was smaller than Emit is now, so it was a lot of fun for them to see the boys again too. It's so much fun to build these relationships with people we work with.
The boys were fully entertained playing in the back of the truck with the new toys while we were in town waiting for them to do their food store run. :)
With the New Year you often see everyone's New Years Resolutions and goals and things. I'm always so bad at resolutions because I just don't plan long term. My brain doesn't work well that way. I try to plan it and I think about what I would like to happen...but in my daily life I have to take it one day at a time or I just get overwhelmed and stressed about all that I want to accomplish or all the stuff I'm planning to do. There was one resolution that I saw out there a few times that I am trying to incorporate though. Many moms mentioned wanting to get up before their kiddos to start the day off on the right foot. My boys get up right at 7am. Sometimes before, sometimes after and sometimes both (Emit's always the first though). So for now I have my alarm set for 6am. I'm using this time to get a quiet time in before the day gets underway. Luckily my boys wake up fairly slowly on most mornings, but starting the day off in the Lord's word just seems like it would make everything that follows run a little smoother.
If you're a praying person, please pray for me to have energy and strength to get my tush out of the bed when the jingle on the iTouch tries to subtly wake me up. And then that I would stay awake during my bible study time. This is a time I need, I want and I am desperately craving to have with the Lord. With that said... it's 11:13pm, so I'm going to bed :)
Much Love!!!

LOL I love the psychological milk!!! TOOOOO cute!! Emit is growing and changin so fast. The first picture of him smiling so big is so sweet. :) I hope your early wakeup is going well. Just when I decided to do it, Mason decided to wake up even earlier and is no waking up at 6:20 instead of 7:30. Little stinker. ;)
love you guys! Give the boys some kisses from me!!!
