More fun in Bama (dates back to August)

This post is FULL of photos. If you're tired of hearing about our trip to Bama, or you're tired of seeing lots of pics of my adorable little dudes, well you may want to skip this post :)
To continue with our fun in Bama...You notice this hill (their driveway) in these photos? Well not only does it make an excellent ramp for any 'toys what got some wheels' but it was also the perfect addition to the little Boot Camp workouts Dallas and I did while we were visiting. It added that extra little umph to the intervals when we needed it. Thank heavens for those little workouts too with all the eating out we enjoyed (YIKES, the world of fast and yummy food is a dangerous place).
My parents were MORE than willing to have a weekend to themselves with the boys, so when I mentioned that Dallas and I might like a little weekend getaway, they didn't hesitate! This is the first time Dallas and I have been away from the boys. Well, I take that back. The weekend before we took off on this trip, we spent our first night away from them when we went to Birmingham for the night with my sis so we could attend church with them the following morning and meet the boys again after lunch. And then of course the couple nights that I was in the hospital when Emit was born I was away from Joss...but I'd hardly call that place a getaway. So, yes... this was our first weekend away just the two of us!
We stayed at this awesome cabin in the northern Georgia mountains and then our friends at Wildwater, LTD.  (also the original owners of our company) hooked us up with a fun-filled day of rafting and zip lines. We had a wonderful weekend! We bought some groceries and had some nice and quiet meals in the cabin, took late afternoon naps, read as much as we wanted to,  watched some tv, hung out in the hot tub, sipped coffee on the deck overlooking the beautiful mountains, and really had an incredible weekend. Of course we missed our little dudes like crazy, but every update we got from home they seemed to be having just as much fun getting a little break from us. I know they would have had fun exploring the cabin and woods too, so maybe some day we can take them back there for some awesome fall or winter weather and really enjoy ourselves.
Back to Grandmother's (and father's) house we go. One afternoon my cousins' kids all got off the school bus at CC & Poppy's place. They live less than a mile from the school, so the kids love not having to ride the bus for an hour or more to get home when they get off here. Plus, they only get to hang out with Joss & Emit once or twice a year, so it's always fun having them all together (for a short time at least) :)
Lots of pool time fun was on the agenda... then they started playing all around the yard and doing all kinds of fun little things. ENERGY was all around!
After the backyard was played out it was back to the front yard for digging, swinging, driving and lots more fun. No worries... that blurry shot of Joss in mid air looks a lot worse than it was. He got right back up and kept playing like a monkey :)
I absolutely LOVE Emit's expression in this shot just above on the bottom right. He is looking at Jake, and in my mind he's thinking something like, "I know Joss can drive this thing...but can I see your license??"

And then of course they were back in the pool for a finale of swimming and splashing for the afternoon.
These were from one morning that my mom did the colored rice thing for the boys. They liked changing all the colors, but it wasn't good enough to play with the toys in there... they wanted to be in the rice themselves.

And then we have more gator fun.. at least they are having fun as long as Joss doesn't leave Emit behind and not let him get back in. He really doesn't do that a lot. Just every now and then after Emit jumps out to look at something or grab something. I'm not sure why, but I really like them looking at the bug on the tree. I know you can't see the bug, but they are always exploring something, especially if there is a critter involved. And YES, they are running around in their underwear.... sorry, I don't even feel badly about this... they are covered in the important places, and whenever I give them the option, they choose to go out in their 'big boy pants' over clothes any day. Hey, it is less laundry that way :) And they are so stinking cute in their undies. So while other folks are accessorizing their kiddos in cute little things I just let mine run around half-naked! :)
