Halloween Hunks

Before I get to Halloween, I have to share this photo that was in the same folder :)
So, we were looking at it to see where we live and where all our family lives all over and Joss asked me, "Mommy, what's that car doing there?" I said, "What car baby?" "That car, right there with the two black wheels. So I ask you... can you see the car?? I'll give you a hint it is somewhere between Jamaica and Puerto Rico :)
We had fun getting ready for Halloween. We were bummed that our pumpkins never sprouted, but Nana and Papa were good to put some on the mailboat for us again.
Joss enjoyed working on the carving, but his hands got 'tired and sweaty' after a little bit for he asked me to help. We made the mistake of not getting pumpkins for the boys next door, so they were all up in the pumpkin carving.
The boys carried around their Halloween bags for weeks before and for about two weeks after until I finally had to put them up so they would survive until next year :)
Emit was so proud of his wooden sword I made him.
I've been trying to get the boys' costumes decided for a long time now. Until about a month before Halloween they said they wanted to be McQueen and Francesco from the movie Cars 2. And then they changed it on me....Multiple times. Finally we settled on our costumes...
Joss is our Jellyfish (a little sick too), I went as a sweaty, dirty, smelly carpenter with my toolbelt and all and Emit went as Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Special requests were made...
Joss didn't want to have to wear anything on his head or put any paint on himself= Check
Emit wanted a wooden sword just like Jake's= Check
My costume took the longest to get just right. I had to put on my clothes early that morning, work all day in the hot sun in jeans and boots to get the smell, dirt and sweat just right ;)
They turned out pretty cute if I may say so :) Don't you love Emit's spyglass (also known as the top of an orange juice container cut at the body. DIY and Recycling all in one!
I got requests for a few days after this to spike Emit's hair. He really liked it. Joss didn't feel very good, but he was a trooper still. And it worked out well that he just had to hold it in place when he went to the door.
Emit was all smiles and super excited to go trick-or-treating.I have to get quicker at taking good photos of the boys or take them out the other side of the house to get a few shots because I get about 30 seconds and then they are too excited with the boys next door to stand still for any photos. I also have to learn how to take good photos at this time of day, because mine always come out blurry for this holiday. ANYWAYS...
Dallas clearly went all out on his costume too.
Luckily our route isn't too long, but even that was a bit much for this little guy until he got some candy as a little incentive, but even then he called it an early night.
Joss had a birthday card for our landlord, Mr. Smith.
"I didn't get any candy, why?" (Because you have to go up and say Trick-or-Treat babe :) A lesson he learned quickly.
Nicole getting in the spirit :) The boys got a kick out of this, and notice Emit is right up there asking nicely for his candy.
The Darville's
The Parotti's
Even a neighbor that was heading out had candy in the car to hand out to the boys, score :)
The Carrol's
And lastly the other Darville's, but no pic. As you can see, they were getting blurrier and blurrier.
Emit and I hit up one more spot, but Joss was ready to head home.
Our 'scary pumpkin'
Our silly pumpkin :)
Emit super excited about his stash!
More blurry, but happy Emit pics. Joss was already in the bath.
Happy 'late' Halloween from my Hunks & me!
