Just some routine things round these parts...

Remember I said Emit needed a new mattress?? Well, this was the day we got it off the mailboat. Think they were happy. This is blurry below, but he started feeling bad around nap time, and didn't want to be away from me, so I asked him if he wanted to lay down in the living room on his new bed to be near me. He had the same little bug Joss had on Halloween. I thought being out of school would help with this a bit, but we seem to pick up any little bug going around through the boys next door. I like to think we're just getting stronger little immune systems. They usually go away pretty quickly too, so that's good.
The 2012-13 Season has officially begun!! And with it comes lots of baking in my future :)
The house is a wreck below, but I was out on the porch one day working on something while they boys watched a little show around what used to be naptime. We hardly take naps anymore. It makes bedtime smoother, and they seem to do well. Every now and then it will catch up to them and they just want to watch a show or something when they are usually in GO GO GO mode. So I came in about 5 minutes later (btw- I was right outside the opened window and could hear them and see them) and found them like this. Both asleep in random positions. I think they were pooped.
Yes, I am rocking my boots in shorts. Sorry... I can't help it.I love my boots and love wearing them to work in, but this day was hot so I couldn't pull off the jeans all day. I've said it before.. I'm no fashionista :)
The boys loves playing with the little hammers and working on these little nails. They kept wanting our big hammers, but we just let them get used to these little ones.
I love Joss' concentration. I'm pretty sure I make that same face when I'm hammering too :)
Emit looks very authentic here :) In his 'big boy pants', dirt everywhere, a bandage on his arm and his crocs on the wrong feet. This is my sweet boy MOST of the time :) Except there's usually a little more dirt mixed in there.
And the Floor is done... for now!
This has been a family project all the way so far :) The boys are out there with us whenever we're working on it. We have frames up by now and they love climbing up the walls...literally!
Emit trying to do a handstand too :) I'm a little excited to have the foundation and the floor done, can you tell?
It's kind of a funny routine, on days that we don't have other things going on anyway. I get up, work with the boys in school, then the boys play outside while Dallas and I work on the shed, at lunchtime I grab a quick bite to eat and get back out to work while Dallas feeds the boys and entertains them inside until they are ready to come back out. Then he's back out there with me. Usually in time for the spacers to go in and the wall to be lifted into place.
The other day in school our activity was to walk around our neighbor and find homes of different types (bird nests, spider webs, etc). I took it a step further and let Joss take the camera and take pictures of the different homes. And he LOVED it!
Above he's capturing the bird nest in the top left corner.
Here we found a cocoon.
He took pictures of the flower buds and seeds as the homes for flowers.
Tuna didn't want to miss out on the fun either. He was going nuts trying to figure out where we were heading. He followed us almost all the way to the beach, but stopped a little short and waited right there until we started heading back  by and he joined us again.
We have a cat, that's more like a dog in some instances. He's really a pretty great cat. We still miss our sweet Snarf and Joy, but at least this little stray found his way into our home and hearts because he's great!
Joss taking a picture of the BIG home to lots and lots and lots of things...the Ocean!
This was one of his pictures below.
And of course we found lots of crab homes in the sand.
Emit had fun home-hunting too!
The big termite nest (yuck I know), but still a home.
On our way walking down the road at one point in this activity I asked him if he was having fun and he enthusiastically said YES! I told him that we were doing schoolwork out here like this and that is one of the reasons doing school at home is so cool. He looked like he was thinking about it a little bit and then said "oooohhh" with a little giggle and smile.
Two walls up, two more to go...(maybe I'm already there in real life... just not on the blog) ;)
