Still working on catching up one EVERYTHING. I still haven't sent off my 'Christmas Cards'. I think I decided today that I'm going to send Easter Greetings this year ;)
Back at the end of November, the day Elliott & Erin left, some other friends flew in for a visit. Annie, who was a 'familiar face' when we went to Lakeview Baptist Church when we were in school at Auburn, and her friend Cory came to visit us for a couple of days before a work conference started in Nassau. Annie became a 'friend' of ours when we got to see her more when she was in a Small Group with Bev & Kevin and Jeremy & Heather in Birmingham....small world :)
So when Annie & Cory were in town, we had some Girl Time! Which was a treat for me because usually it's Dallas having all the guy's fishing trips and camping trips and such... LADIES... come see me so we can have more Girls Times, k :)
We went for a beautiful little paddle in the Moriah Cay Land & Sea Park, which is always enjoyable to me.
There are some really gorgeous beaches tucked and hidden all over the place around here.
This is the cut between Moriah Cay and Little Exuma...also a fun little ride when you jump in and flow with the tide.
These pictures all make me think of our church praise time because I've used a lot of them over the past few months.
Speaking of our church, I've been meaning to do a little update about that. We are still meeting next door at the Morton's house, but we have about 12-15 people that come on a regular basis. For a few weeks there we had visitors and guests every week. Some were visiting us or someone in the group, but there have been a lot of people that live here visiting too. It is very exciting!
We have started back up with our Bible Study now as well (took a little break for the holidays). We are going through 'Experiencing God' by Henry Blackaby right now. I'm really enjoying the study, and it is going hand-in-hand with the series and topics we've been covering with LifeChurch.
We didn't have the best weather for Annie & Cory's visit, but we still had a good time. We took them over to Hamburger Beach on Stocking Island. It's a different beach bar than Chat-n-Chill, but on the same island.
The boys were in good pictures moods this day, so I took full advantage :)
They climb on E V E R Y T H I N G! Joss is a really great climber. His favorite thing to do right now is climb trees, but I'm getting ahead of the posts.
Emit liked this conch piece and kept pretending it was an ice cream cone.
I think this was the last day we got a decent amount of rain, and it was back in November! My garden and yard need some desperately. The harbor looks pretty empty here too with just a few boats. There are so many sailboats out there right now.
Joss found a hermit crab...always a thrill!
Emit, in his cute little jammers (swimming shorts), was excited to find another swing to play with.
SCORE... Games inside while we wait for our lunch. While we were inside the little rain cloud passed right on top of us. Made me really appreciate a dry shelter at that moment.
I catch myself envying Emit's eyelashes all the time. They are so pretty. And his little 'pout pout lips'. {{Smooch Smooch}}
There's just something about this photo below that I really love. I can't quite put my finger on it. My little 'explorers'. I really love the name we settled on for our company, and thinking about some of the ideas we had when we first started brainstorming. Seems like ages ago already, but Out-Island Explorers... that's what we are, that's what these guys are, and just about everyday we say something to the effect of "let's go exploring". It is so cute to hear Joss say our company name too. They each have their own t-shirt with our logo and name on it, and it is so cute when he asks for it by name :)
Anyhoo... back to my post at hand....
Emit's expression here is perfect for the scenario. He wants to be a big boy that climbs on everything like big brother, but he's still my baby and is still very clumsy at times, and he knows he falls easily. To me his look here is saying, "Whoo, look at me, but please come help me quickly because I am in fact terrified now that I got up here."
He's a little more confident now...
Ahh yes, the PISSLE incident!
Anyone that has been fishing with the Knowles family knows that you get inducted into their circle of love by eating a pissle from a conch at your first chance pretty much. Well, the ladies were getting conch salad with Dallas, and of course the topic came up.
Annie downed hers pretty quickly and easily, but poor Cory had quite the challenge getting hers to stay down. (I have more vivid pictures, but I didn't want to do that to Cory) ;)
RUN JOSS RUN!!!!!
These boys have so much energy it is crazy trying to keep up!
Joss + on a swing + hung in a tree= Best Thing Ever!
Pretty view of Stocking Island from the salt beacon. Pretty big waves there on the ocean side too (left).
This is what our stormy weather looks like...
Thirsty boy after that steep climb...I mean steep ride as mommy carried him up and down the hill!
Hangin out at the top...
Funky little flowers :)
I love how the sun is peeking through at one little spot. There are probably 20 sailboats or more in this 'view' now.
We had to hit up the blue hole while we were out... even though the weather was less than perfect.
Playing around with the underwater pics...
Ooooh, these underwater shots make me think of my b-day present from Dallas.. one of them at least. One word hint for now....SCUBA!!! :)
Annie & Cory underwater...
Emit showing us his dance moves :)
Jammin' out in his Jammers :)
Great couple of days with Annie & Cory! Come back anytime ladies. More catching up on the way...
