We're up to around Valentine's Day now with this post. This was our progress on the shed at this point...roof almost finished. I do not miss working on this thing :)
One morning in school I grabbed my camera and set up the tripod. I just set the timer a few times here and there so I could get a few shots of what things look like on a typical morning.
This was a sweet morning in school too. Doesn't quite rank up there with our Beach Day, but it was sweet, the boys were doing awesome and being very easy to work with.
Emit is doing his puzzles, which he LOVES to do, and is getting really great at putting together.
Sticky Note: The boys have called rhinoceroses "horn busters" for as long as I can recall. I'm not really sure why they started that, but I think it is pretty cute. They also call Honey-Nut Cheerios "Bugs Life Cereal" :)
Our neighbors are doing some reconstruction on their house so we've seen the big yellow dump truck regularly the last couple of months. They get excited every time they hear it.
We went to our first Little League Softball one Saturday morning. Emit was all about participating. Joss didn't want anything to do with it this morning. He kept saying, "I'm too newrv-us mommy" (nervous) so we didn't force it, but Emit wanted to have fun still.
I should have known better, but I was pretty disappointed in the way things went there. I knew it wouldn't be organized, and it wasn't, but I thought that maybe the coaches would at least be good and 'kid friendly'.
But they weren't. Not in my opinion anyway. The guy is shouting at all the kids from the dugout to go and run and do your stretches. And then when they are stretching on their own and doing what they believe to be the stretches, he's yelling at them again for not being lined up properly (something a coach is usually hands on with at this age) and then not doing the proper stretches. Just made me really angry because that's what a COACH is for. But again, I shouldn't have been surprised...but once again, I was. Until I'm ready to get involved with it myself, we won't be going back.
Emit had a blast at first though, and looked cute as can be. He picked out his outfit too :)
He did a full warm up lap (with Daddy). He is just so cute running.
The other kids were all older and the so-called coach was just yelling, so we did our own little instructions on the side. Joss still wasn't really into it until we started having a lot of FUN with Emit and this other little fella here. Then Joss jumped in a little later and started enjoying himself too.
Emit was doing really well catching the balls. This kid reminded me of some old tee ball games I remember where everyone just ran after the ball no matter where it went :) Including in Emit's glove.
Don't worry though, we were taking turns with him too.
AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH--- I LOVE this picture of Emit and Daddy below--- such a sweet father/son moment.
Joss saw the fun and he was ready to jump in.
He was catching very well too :)
And throwing!
And then climbing...you know the most basic baseball skills ;)
This is where the cool guys eat lunch!
Sticky Note: Emit is potty trained, and has been for a while now. We still have to use diapers for sleeping though. Otherwise, I'm changing beds every day and he sleeps through it so it floating in his bed when he pees. So instead, I've told him that when we use up the last of our diapers that we have he can sleep without one. He really wants to go without one now, but we have a stack of diapers and we might as well use them. So, even though he's wearing a diaper, he insists on putting his big boy pants over his diaper every night. He is so funny about it, and will pitch a fit if I try to get his shorts on without his big boy pants.
We decided to stay in for Valentine's Day and cook a fancy dinner at home. We had chicken cordon bleu with rice, asparagus, a yummy salad with homemade dressing and a little Barefoot Bubbly Pinot Grigiot :)
Lots of blurry pictures, but we had a blast! We got all dolled up and danced, and had the perfect little evening.
I sure do love this man!!
Ha ha... I had to show off my 'hooker heels'. That's what I get for ordering heels online and not really paying attention to the specs. I swear they did not look THAT high. I knew they would be heels, but they take a little skill to walk a straight line in.
Love my Valentine!!!

Emit is ADORABLE going out like a big boy and I so appreciate the way Dallas gave extra attention in making his morning fun...that smile is priceless! Well, I'm thinking you had a nice Valentine's celebration... lol, at your heels...reminds me of some I wore on my wedding day (my pictures will show them tossed to the side after the ceremony!)
Never stop loving romance~
