Continuing with CC's visit with us back in May...
She brought down some MRE's (Meal, Ready-to-Eat) for the boys to have a Soldier Picnic with them. We talked to them about their Poppy and his old army days. I think they had a good time!
Grits was having fun hanging out with us all too.
Their favorite parts of the meal were the corn chips...
and the tang!
I remember loving these as a kid. Bev and I thought we were so cool when Dad would come home with some of these for us to enjoy!
Once lunch was over, it was time to play.
She also brought them new shirts and told them they were soldiers too :)
Joss was having a good time!
Trying to get Grits to come out and play.
Chasing Grits around the yard. Grits didn't mind too much because he never ran too far or too fast. I think this may have been our last day with Grits, actually. We couldn't find him the following morning, and Tuna we found Tuna (our other cat) up on our roof. We knew something had gone down out on the porch that night, but we could only guess. We hoped he ran off because he got scared of something, but that wasn't the case. We found him a couple more days later behind our laundry shed. We were all very saddened to say farewell to our new friend so quickly. That makes for 3 cats that we have lost to the dogs around here :( poor babies.
"Gotcha!"
Handsome little man!
Silly little man!
It was a bit buggy and hot outside, so naturally we had to find a way to cool off. I think it had just finished raining or was just barely sprinkling already.
Time to squirt a little water...
Spray.Fill.Splash.Repeat.
Love seeing them work together :)
The best part was they were cracking each other up by splashing themselves in the face with water.
And not throwing it on the other one and eventually getting each other mad.
Notice the shorts have come off now, and they are down to their big boy pants.
And of course, it naturally progresses to splashing themselves in the 'pee pee' as known around this house.
Emit's turn for a little pee pee splash!
Are we having fun?? I think so!
Then, we take it up a notch even..... CC SPRAYS, Joss and Emit RUN!!!!!
They just run circles though because you don't really want to get too far out of range or else you won't get nice and wet.
Mom was already started to feel really yucky at this point. She had a bug bite her on her foot early in her visit with us which triggered a reaction of some kind. She was very uncomfortable already and feeling pretty miserable. We were trying to keep the activities easy on her and still fun. So this worked out pretty well.
Squirting in their 'pantzies'. That's their made up word for pants when they get really silly.
Ha ha, gotcha Joss!
Naked bum! Why are bare bottoms so funny to kids? Don't you love his super white bum?
He's not having fun at all is he?? :)
After the hose fun was up, out come the 'slip-n-slide', also known as old busted Thermarests that are beyond repair so we can't use them on our trips anymore. No way can we toss these yet though.
Add a little soap and we are ready to go!
They are almost too big for these because they slide off the end pretty easily.
They would probably go nuts if we could get them on a real slip-n-slide.
More to come...
