I love reading all ya'lls blogs, and I enjoy sharing our little adventures on here, but for those of you that do blogs you know that that in itself could be a full time job sometimes. Right now I know there are a lot of sad and tough things going on back home that I feel absolutely helpless with. I'm hoping this little gesture (the pics & tales) can help lighten the mood a little if even only for a few minutes.
I'm just going to jump right in to my Sticky Notes because it's already going to be a long set of posts. The other day I went in to put Joss down at bedtime and when I laid him down I felt that Bear and his bed were soaking wet (from nap time--yikes). I said, "Oh Baby, I'm so sorry...I didn't know this was wet" and then went on to change the bed so he could lay back down on a dry bed of course. While I was changing it he very softly said "I'm sah-weee". My heart nearly broke right there. I know he was just being our little mockingbird because he's been repeating everything we've said lately, but it sounded so sweet and so sincere. I just gave him a big ole hug and made sure he knew I wasn't mad at him, but that Mommy was sorry that I laid him down with it wet...
Emit is working on learning how to eat "solids". And by solids I mean mushed up bananas, rice cereal, and applesauce. He doesn't seem to grasp the whole swallowing concept. He makes me laugh so hard when I try to feed him. I'll get the spoon out or close to him and he starts this little thing with his mouth that is kind of like spitting, but it's just a little different. He wants the food, he wants to taste it, but then it's like his little tongue just takes over and does it's own thing. So he's pretty much nursing around the clock these days. He seems to be getting enough though, so I'm not worried about that too much, but I would like to see him learn to eat soon.
Along with all the cute and innocent things that Joss repeats us saying, he has picked up one that I'm not so proud of. It makes me laugh because he uses it in the right context and everything, and on his own sometimes... but I try not to make a big deal out of it so he will hopefully not like saying it too much. It's not even that bad, but still... He says (drum roll please) "OH PRAP" (which is his version of 'Oh crap'). I really catch myself now when I say it, and try not to let him hear me, but it's really convicting to see your actions played out in front of you. And like I said, I don't even think that is sooo bad, but it'll keep us in check for sure :)
The warm waters have returned, so it's back in the ocean on a regular basis now. Joss asks to "Go see turtles" at least once a day. Which now that the water is warm again means, let's go for a swim :) It is pretty regularly becoming our afternoon thing. Emit by no means is going to be left out on the action-- he will not let that happen. He sits in the stroller quietly just long enough for us to get Joss suited up and ready to go and then he's squirming and fussing at me to get him out of there and in the water. Once I go to take him out he starts kicking and laughing and getting soo excited. He LOVES being in the ocean.
Joss is still such a sweet and loving big brother. I am so proud of how he took to Emit from day one and has been consistent. Every now and then if Emit has a toy that looks appealing to Joss he wants to see it too (of course), but he's really good about finding a replacement toy for Emit or himself. He loves to kiss on him and hug him and is always wanting us to pick Emit up or have him a part of things.
Joss with Hippo, who else? This was just before Hippo got a much needed bath. He had dirt ('eww, poo' as Joss calls it) all over him after this little outting.

Never will I get bored reading your Blog and the stories you share! I'm sorry it's such a hassle, because we really do enjoy them... How sweet of Joss to say he was sorry for wetting the bed - I can just see the two of you in a sweet hug :0) I'm very happy to hear Emit is sleeping better - you will feel like a new person with some rest yourself. They are adorable and I love you all very much.
Hugs and prayers, Grammy CC
I love your updates. :) I can't believe Joss is almost swimming already! Good luck with potty training. I haven't even attempted with Sweetie and she is almost 3 1/2! I can't get over how babies younger than mine are crawling moving around! One of these days mine will be too, I'm enjoying his lack of movement for now. :) Great pictures. :)
